Ireland's Own and The Irish Walk Golf Classic was launched in 1991 and has provided substantial funds to the Children of Ireland, Now in its 15th year, proceeds benefit Project Children and the Kilcormac Community Youth Center in County Offaly. During it's 15 years history, the Classic has raised more than $600.000.

The Kilcormac Community Youth Center has been a beneficiary for eight years and funds received from the tournament have truly changed the lives and outlooks of the children in the area. Their Summer Camp has provided new outlets in sports, arts and crafts, appreciation for wildlife and social activities for the young people. They also now have the opportunity for added enjoyment and learning experiences through field trips.

Project Children, the other recipient of the funds generated by the tournament, puts the money to excellent use in furthering the work of the Project Children Pilot Program. The Pilot Program was designated to enable Project Children participants to build on the relationships they established with one another in the United States. The Pilot Program, which operates in the Derry, Belfast and Strabane areas, has brought them and their adult family members together and has successfully engaged both generations in continuing dialogue with one another. This program is viewed as another important aspect of furthering the basic aim of Project Children.
